Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26/03/2026
This policy explains how AfricaConect (africaconect.com) uses cookies and similar technologies, including advertising (Google AdSense) when enabled.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. It can remember preferences, keep you signed in, or help measure traffic. Similar technologies (localStorage, pixels) may be used for the same purposes.
2. Essential cookies
These are required for the site to work and cannot be disabled via our banner:
- Session / authentication — keep you signed in and protect against CSRF
- Language preference — remember FR / EN / AR
- Consent record — stores your choice (localStorage key
africaconect_cookie_consent)
3. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
When ads are enabled, Google and partners may set cookies to:
- serve ads (personalized or non-personalized based on your consent)
- cap how often you see an ad
- measure campaign performance
The AdSense script loads only after you explicitly accept non-essential cookies. If you choose essential-only, no third-party ad tracking script is loaded.

4. Audience measurement
We may collect aggregated page-view statistics to improve the product. This data is not sold.
5. Manage your choices
- Use the cookie banner (Accept all / Essential only)
- Clear cookies and localStorage to see the banner again
- Block third-party cookies in your browser settings
