AfricaConect ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform connecting jobseekers and recruiters available at this address. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. Data we collect

Account data: first name, last name, email address, password (stored encrypted), phone, country.

Jobseeker profile data: CV, profile picture, work experience, skills, education, certifications, salary expectations.

Recruiter profile data: company name and description, logo, industry, website, and where applicable a company verification document (business registration).

Content you post: job listings, applications, cover letters, messages exchanged with other users, company reviews.

Usage data: pages visited, searches performed, jobs viewed, IP address, session identifier, device and browser type - collected automatically to run and improve the service.

2. Cookies

We use cookies necessary for the site to function (login session, language preference). These cookies cannot be disabled without preventing use of the service.

If advertising is enabled on this site (via Google AdSense), Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and others. 3. How we use your data

  • Provide and operate the service (matching jobseekers and recruiters, applications, messaging)
  • Compute the compatibility score between a candidate and a job
  • Send account-related notifications (application status, new messages, company verification) by email and, if enabled, SMS/WhatsApp
  • Keep the site secure (fraud prevention, login attempt limiting, report moderation)
  • Analyze aggregated site usage to improve it
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data sharing

Your jobseeker profile (including your CV) is visible to recruiters only when you apply to a job, or if you appear in the talent directory (visible to verified recruiters). Your data is never sold to third parties. We may share data with technical service providers necessary to operate the service (hosting, email delivery) who are contractually bound to protect your data, and with relevant authorities where required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us (see section 8).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your personal data. You can exercise these rights directly from your profile or by contacting us.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data (encrypted passwords, secure connections, role-based access control). No method of transmission over the Internet is however completely secure.

8. Minors

AfricaConect is intended for people of working age and is not directed at minors under 16.

This policy may be updated periodically. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
